- I love this style of mask used all over the Carribean including Louisiana. It was originally a Tyrolean form that has evolved to incorporate Africa, Amerindian, and even some Asian elements. Its a very enigmatic mask, and I like that its not that slick plastic. However it is very hard to make the double image work at a distance. I’ve tried 2x now and had only marginal success. But I think if it were used in an intimate setting and the lights were handled very delicately we might be able to make it work. I was given one of these masks which was made in Peru…If you’re interested I can have some pictures taken with a variety of people in the masks so you can see the possibilities.

Does it have two layers?
